The wearable device market continues to grow globally, with over 50% of individuals in America owning a device [1], and over 95% owning a sensor-enabled smartphone [2]. But what value are these devices bringing, and how will they impact health and wellness into the future? We believe that the value in wearables is all in the data. In particular, how the data is used to enable individuals and groups to better understand and manage their health, wellness and risks.
Never before have we had the ability to measure, monitor and motivate health in such a powerful way. The data to improve health is now in all of our pockets and on our wrists.
In this session, companies and investors in this space will debate the true value and definition of “wearable devices”, the data that serves value to experts in this field, where these devices have fallen short in the past and can be improved in the future, and the overall promise of the next generation of wearable devices.
